Off-site Group Show Curated by HAUNT collective at Pasar Susu Debu, Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Ah, who then can we make use of? Not Angels: not men, and the resourceful creatures see clearly that we are not really at home in the interpreted world. (Ranier Maria Rilke) FEAR FEEDS ON FEAR. PUPT THIS EFFICIENT PROCESS IN MOTION. MANIP ULATION IS NOT LIMITED TO PEOPLE, ECONOMIC SOCIAL AND DEMOCRA TIC INSTITUTIONS CAN BE SHAKEN. IT WILL BE DEMONSTRATED THAT NOTHING IS SAFE, SACRED OR SANE, THERE IS NO RESPITE FROM HORROR. ABSOLUTES ARE QUICKSIK VER. RESULTS ARE SPECTACULAR (Jenny Holzer, bootleg text, @shanzhai_lyric) Wet is a creative experimental platform enacting exhibitions, interventions and performances in decentralized spaces across the globe. We develop shows in offsite, nonstandard locations as well as in partner galleries and venues, creating a discourse between eccentric local experiences and standardized aesthetic presentations. Our group show enacts a speculative fiction set in a post-apocalyptic future visually modelled after local wet markets. We imagine the non-human narratives that emerge between decaying commodities, homeless machine intelligences, the ghosts of dead ideologies and the earth which reclaims them all. Works of art including sculpture, painting, and new media create an atmosphere that encourages the decomposition of established sign systems and narratives. . 27.10.18 — 27.12.18 .
