IN YOUR DREAMS THEY ARE / NOT

What else is poetry beyond words on a page? A lust for language, a vacillation between the quietness and turbulence of time and space captured in voices of imagination, touch, fantasy and thought. Poetry is a personal language conceived in the crevice between maker and interpreter. In a time of hysteria and simultaneity poetry creates an important moment of pause and reflection.

In your dreams they are not / words shows works that expand the definition of poetry into and through their different artistic media, such as performance, sculpture, painting, photography or film. The exhibition is an experiment that deals with the relevance of poetry and poetics in a world where an excess of information and data-evaluation distracts us from the contemporary moment and our individual and collective selves.

The Exhibition is curated by Lara Schoorl and Svenja Wichmann. Following the Exhibition an artist publication with contributions of all participating artist will be made.
